The 2022 World Track and Field Championships event has been very inspirational and exciting. There is a lot of news coming about during the 2022 World Track and Field Championship in Eugene, Oregon. The winner of the women's marathon is Tamirat Tola from Ethiopia with a time of 2 hours 5 minutes and 36 seconds which is a record for the world championship. Her compatriot Mosinet Geremew took second with 2:06:04 and Bashir Abdi from Belgium was a bronze winner with 2:06:48. As for the men's 100-meter race, the United States of America had a sweep. Fred Kerley won gold with a time of 9.86 seconds. Marvin Bracy-Williams was second, and Trayvon Bromell was third with a time of 9.88 seconds. Kerley was emotional in thinking about his aunt Virginia Kerley from Texas. As for the women's 10,000 m final, Letesenbet Gidey of Ethiopia won gold with a record time of 30:09:94. Second and third were the Kenyans of Hellen Obiri and Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi. Obiri was a two-time world champion and 2-time Olympic medalist. Allyson Felix bronze in the 2022 Eugene World Track and Field Championship for the mixed relay of 4 X 400 m relay. This adds to Allyson Felix's legacy as one of the best track and field athletes of all time. The American Chase Ealey won gold in the shot put. As for the hammer throw for women, Brooke Anderson won gold for America, Camryn Rogers won silver from Canada, and Janee Kassanavoid of America won bronze.
Now, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won the gold in the 2022 World Track and Field Championship of the women's 100m with a time of 10.67. Shericka Jackson won silver in the race with Elaine Thompson winning the bronze. Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce (who has raced professionally since 2007) is probably the greatest 100m sprinter in history, and she is 35 years old. She has her 5th world track and field title. Congratulations to Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, Shericka Jackson, and Elaine Thompson. It has great historical significance because it is the first track and field World Championships taking place in America (in Eugene, Oregon which is one capital of track and field athletics in general). The events took place at the University of Oregon Hayward Field. Noah Lyles won gold in the men's 200m with a time of 19.31 (being the third greatest time in history), Kenny Bednarek won silver from America, and Erriyon Knighton won bronze from America too. For the women's 200m, the gold medal was won by Shericka Jackson from Jamaica with a time of 21.45, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce won silver with a time of 21.45, and the UK's Dina Asher-Smith won bronze too. The 2022 World Championships in Eugene, Oregon has easily proven to be one of the greatest track and field events in history. People are still talking about the record-breaking race of Sydney McLaughlin of America finishing gold for the 400m hurdles. Her time of 50.68 seconds was incredible, and she is only 22 years old. She can go under 50 seconds. Many legends have praised her like Michael Johnson and Allyson Felix. Silver for the women's 400m hurdles goes to Femke Bol of the Netherlands (with a time of 52.27 seconds), and bronze for the woen's 400m hurdles goes to the American Dalilah Muhammad, who is a legend in her own right (with a time of 53.113 seconds). The legacy of the 2022 World Athletics Track and Field Championship is truly incredible. It was one of the greatest World Track and Field Championships that I have seen in my life. Records were broken among many sports during the duration of the events. America won 33 total medals including 13 gold, Ethiopia won 10 medals, and Jamaica won 10 medals too. From July 15-24, 2022, at Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field history was shown. Legends shown some of their last races, and a new generation of track and field athletes shown up to take their places among the icons of athletics. The world records include Syndey McLaughlin running 50.68 seconds in the 400m hurdles final, Robi Amusan of Nigeria having 12.12 seconds in the 100m hurdles finals, and Armaud Duplantis of Sweden reaching 6.21 meters in the pole vault men's competition. In the men's 400m. Michael Norman finally had gold for America in 44.29 seconds, Kriani James from Grenada had silver with 44.48 seconds, and Matthew Hudson-Smith from Great Britain won bronze with 44.66 seconds. For the women's 800m, Athing Mu won it with gold from America, Keely Hodgkinson won silver from Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Mary Moraa won bronze from Kenya. Athing Mu is very young, and she already won four gold medals in less than 5 years.
For the women's 4 X 100m relay, America won gold with Melissa Jefferson, Abby Steiner, Jenna Prandini, and Twandisha Terry. Terry celebrated greatly. Jamaica had silver, and Germany had bronze. For the 4 X 400 m relay race of women, America won gold with Talitha Diggs, Abbe Steiner, Britton Wilson, and Sydney McLaughlin. McLaughlin and Wilson ran incredibly fast in that relay. Sydney McLaughlin continues to add to her legend as being one of the greatest track and field athletes of our generation in the 2020s. Silver was won by Jamaica, and bronze won by Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Canada won the men's 4 X 100m relay, with America with silver, and Great Britain and Northern Ireland winning bronze. For the shot put for men, Americans all won like Ryan Crouser with the gold, Joe Kovacs with silver, and Josh Awotunde winning bronze.
We know what the elephant in the room is. That is that our people have shown out in those games.
